Stockdale Securities today reaffirms its buy investment rating on Brave Bison Group Plc (LON:BBSN) and cut its price target to 4p (from 9p).

Brave Bison update following CEO resignation

Brave Bison Group has confirmed that no approaches have been made to the company since chief executive Ashley MacKenzie resigned on Monday.

MacKenzie, who resigned after a disagreement with the board on the future strategy of the company and the timing of any potential exit, will remain in his role which the company searches for a successor.

The company says it has noted press comments and confirms that no approaches have been made to the company and no other corporate activity has taken place.

The company expects to provide the market with a trading update for the year ended 31 December towards the end of January.

Brave Bison COO steps down

Brave Bison Group, the independent digital media & social video broadcaster, chief operating officer Richard Mansell has stepped down from the role and as a director for private family reasons with immediate effect.

Chief executive Ashley MacKenzie said: "Richard is a hugely effective business partner and great friend. He is one of life's good guys. From a walk-up in Denmark Street, we co-founded Base79 together with an unwavering belief in online video, YouTube and wherever the consumer goes the advertiser will follow.

"Since our return to Brave Bison last year, we have renewed that focus on social video creation, with Richard's difficult decision to step down as COO coming at a hugely exciting time for our business and industry as a whole. I entirely respect Richard's decision, and am delighted that he will continue working with Brave Bison on various projects as a consultant. Richard leaves with the fondest of wishes from me and everyone at Brave Bison."

Mansell said: "Having been a part of this story from the very origins of Base79 in 2007, it has been a privilege to see our business and vision attract such great talent within the industry as we seek to grow audiences and resultant revenues for all. I firmly believe Brave Bison's successes will continue, as the business moves up the value chain in the social video space and progresses on its path to profitability. I would like to thank Ashley and the Board for their support."

His responsibilities at COO will be shared between between the CEO, CFO and broader leadership group within the Company.

Brave Bison pre-tax losses narrow

Brave Bison Group, the independent digital media and social video broadcaster, reports net revenue of £9.7m for the six months to the end of June - 38% up on a year ago.

Thew group - which re-branded and changed its name from Rightster Group on 9 May - posts an adjusted EBITDA loss of £0.8m (a decrease of 84% from H1 2015) while pre-tax losses fell 69% to £3.6m.

The group ended the period with £8.4m of cash.

Chief executive Ashley MacKenzie said: "I am thoroughly pleased with the pace of progress re-orientating the business.

"We are undergoing a transformation from a third party technology provider to a social video broadcaster, and throughout that transformation have managed to significantly grow revenues, while dramatically reducing our operating costs.

"Our primary financial goal remains to achieve profitability. While maintaining close control of our cost base, management will be looking to build on this strong growth momentum throughout the second half of the year.

"Significant revenue opportunities will be driven by maintaining competitive advantage in a fast-paced online video industry - combining our data-informed scientific approach to audience management for existing video content, with the remarkable artistic talent we have in our business for new content creation."
