John is one of the Founding Directors of Beaufort Securities which was originally established in 1992 under the name Hoodless Brennan. With over 30 years experience in the finance industry, John is a well known and highly respected industry figure within the Small Cap Market. John leads Beaufort’s drive to open up the Small Cap Market as well as the broader Stockmarket including International opportunities as investment opportunities for retail clients. He is a strong advocate of the use of technology provided by the Internet to enhance the service and communication that can be provided by today’s Stockbroker. John started his career back in 1974 with Sun Alliance, and in 1980 became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Subsequently he has become a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. A proud father of a large family, he spends most of his weekends engaged in family activity.

Tanvier Malik, Chief Executive Officer

Tanvier has over 25 years’ experience at various investment houses, including Citigroup, Merrill Lynch and Alberdale Partners. He has been involved in numerous IPOs in the UK and South Asia – in particular playing an instrumental role in bringing the first GDR to market from India. Tanvier’s biggest passion is food and this sparked his involvement in the UK’s first fine dining India restaurant, The Cinnamon Club, for which he raised funds via a group of like-minded investors. Tanvier was appointed Beaufort Securities’ Chief Executive Officer in 2012. Under his stewardship the company has grown to be one of the largest corporate brokers within the SME space in addition to offering clients new products not generally offered by traditional stockbroking firms. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Beaufort International Associates plc.

 

Tahir Akbar FCCA, Chief Finance Officer

Tahir is a qualified accountant with over 8 years experience in various City accountancy firms including Baker Tilley. He spent 11 years as Group Financial Controller of a large UK-based food, beverage and tobacco wholesaler. Tahir became Beaufort Securities’ Chief Finance Officer in 2012 and is also a director of Beaufort International Associates plc.

Tim has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over twenty-five years, twenty of those with Beaufort. He is one of the original founder shareholders of the company. Tim also serves as a director on the board. His current role is Head of Stock Sourcing where he is involved in the raising of capital for AIM companies.

 

John H Craft, Non-Executive Director

John H Craft, Non-Executive Director

John is a degree qualified Chemical Engineer with over 35 years experience in the process design, hook-up and commissioning of both offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities. He has held a number of senior commissioning and project management positions in various Client and Contractor Project teams in Asia, the Middle East, Korea and more recently Australia.

John has been involved in two of the six largest LNG projects in the world with a combined budget of over $80 billion. He has worked in challenging culturally sensitive and challenging environments overseas, with local nationals and Asian subcontinent labour.

Alongside his Non-Executive role at Beaufort, John is a member of the Board of Trustees for Kileva Foundation, a UK-based family charity building schools for underprivileged communities in the Sagalla region of Kenya. He is also Vice President of Marketing (Europe and Scandinavia) for a Singaporean based oil and gas consultancy company, KTRX Enterprises.

 

John Farthing, Non-Executive Director

John Farthing, Non-Executive Director

John has worked in the City of London all his career. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Kingston Smith in 1988 and then became Finance Director of Cheviot Asset Management Ltd in 1993. John led the sale of Cheviot in 2006 since when he has been involved in a number of businesses including the founding of SimplyStockbroking in 2009 which led to his involvement with Beaufort resulting in joining the board as a Non-Executive Director in 2014.

John is a Liveryman and Court Assistant of the Worshipful Company of World Traders and a Trustee of its Charity.
